6D Community Activity - An opportunity to Pause and Reflect - what do you believe? why?

This activity is a way for you to practice self-reflection and to clarify what you believe on a variety of topics. You can practice this over and over again to gain new insights as you mature and gain wisdom.

Today let us begin by exploring our beliefs about nutrition. As with all beliefs, these are personal and deeply rooted in our past. Exploring what we think about our food can help us to make better, wiser choices for the life we wish to live.

Later (at the end of this post!) we provide some other ideas to explore with these same questions.

Activity Focus Topic: Nutrition

How do you approach the subject of nutrition? How do you approach your food? Which foods do you focus on for your health? Which foods do you focus on for your pleasure? Where did you learn these ideas? Which elements (religious, financial, emotional, etc.) in your life have impacted your nutritional choices of today and how?

All good questions for a little self-reflection and honesty about our nutritional choices and our beliefs surrounding food. Take a few moments now to pause and spend some time thinking about your relationship with food. Time to be honest with yourself.

Later (at the end of this post!) we can explore other areas of our lives as well.

Before you begin, take a moment to prepare. Stop.Breathe.Focus.Move.Flow.* – not just five pretty words, but five small actions that can help to bring clarity to any activity or decision you undertake.

Take a moment to pause your activity. Just for a moment, pause your thoughts, your words and close your eyes.

Take a moment to notice your breath. Inhale. Exhale. Open your eyes.

Take a few moments now to reflect on the questions posed in the activity below.

Take a moment to choose how you will move forward with what you have learned.

Take a final moment to realize that you have the power to create your reality, your understanding of the world and your role in it. Flow into the reality of your choosing.

The activity which follows is from Dr. T. Colin Campbell**. We are asked to pause and reflect on our own nutritional practices, to identify their roots and their general impact on our lives as well as on the lives of those with whom we interact and about whom we care.

6D Living has expanded this activity in order to explore a plethora of beliefs so that we can find truth and balance in all areas of our lives.

Five Main Factors for Reflection

1. Identify the Core Nutritional Beliefs which you have been taught

2. Emotional factors which have contributed to your background beliefs

3. Financial factors which have contributed to your background beliefs

4. Cultural factors which have contributed to your background beliefs

5. Health factors which have contributed to your background beliefs

Three Questions for Exploration during your Reflection

1. Do you recall when or why this factor first influenced you?

2. Have you noticed over time any beliefs that have changed based on new influences?

3. Have you found yourself influencing others based on your own beliefs and behaviors?

Self Reflection - A practice in truth in nutrition and beyond!

Paradigms are strengthened as the ‘truth’ that we share becomes the Truth that is known. It is healthy for each of us to explore what it is we hold to be true and why we do so.

Only through regular self-reflection, evaluation and adjustment can we confidently speak our truth.

Let us take a look at how we can explore other areas of our lives, beyond nutrition, using this useful exercise from Dr. Campbell. If we simply change the first question, we can practice self-reflection on any topic in our lives. Practicing this type of self-reflection is most useful when it is done regularly as this helps us to better understand changes in our lives, why they are happening and how we can guide them as well as flow with them.

Instead of asking yourself about your core nutritional beliefs, try this question:

Identify the Core Religious Beliefs which you have been taught

Now continue on with the remaining questions in the activity. Enjoy your explorations.

Other questions with which you may wish to begin this activity:

We have the power to impact and form our societies as we wish them to be.

Let's hope that we will use this power wisely.
