Andrea Mullin

6D Yoga Instructor

Yoga has been an important part of Andreas life for over 30 years. It’s been a constant force of freedom and release helping to make all life’s ups and downs more comfortable. Yoga has helped her feel stronger more flexible and confident both on and off the mat. She completed her training in Vinyasa Yoga over 4 years ago and has opened her own studio. She loves creating imaginative and playful sequences, guiding her students to find space in their bodies , mind and soul. Her classes are a mix of gentle asanas to a more dynamic style that synchronizes movement and breath to find stillness and focus. It is style that is beneficial for all levels of practice. Novice to Master - all are welcome.

Andrea shares some of her favorite breathwork practices with us so that we can find moments of peace throughout our days, improve our immune systems, optimize our sleep and boost our circulation and digestion. There is much power in the breath. Her strong and calming energy encourages students to feel grounded and relaxed.

Sama Vritti means same or equal fluctuations in Sanskrit. In practice it is a steady inhalation and exhalation of equal duration. Also introducing kumbhaka ( breath retention) holding the breath at the top of the inhale and at the bottom of the exhale. It is soothing for the mind and body .The main benefits of this pranayama practice (breathing technique) is to calm and balance the mind, slow down the heart rate , increase oxygen to the brain and reduce anxiety. It’s a great technique to use to ground yourself and energize the body.

A short complete Vinyasa Flow sequence linking breath with movement. Working into all major muscle groups, developing strength and flexibility. This practice will help to release tension in the body and create space in your mind, leaving you feeling energized. Enjoy! Her classes are a mix of gentle asanas to a more dynamic style that synchronizes movement and breath to find stillness and focus. It is style that is beneficial for all levels of practice. We spend a lot of energy balancing all the different areas of our life that we often overlook our physical sense of balance. Cue yoga balancing poses which help us find stability in our everyday lives and activities both mentally and physically. In our bodies they help to strengthen and lengthen our muscles. In our mind - the concentration required improves focus and helps to relieve stress. This flow explores different poses, challenging your center of gravity and strength. This is a standing flow but have a wall or a chair near at hand for support due to wobbling.

Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation also known as ‘yogic sleep’ or ‘dream yoga’. It is a state between waking and sleeping where the body is completely relaxed. It allows you to connect with yourself at a deeper level letting go of distractions, stress and anxiety. In the practice I’ll invite you to go through a guided meditation, encourage you to breathe, to visualize things and feel different parts of your body. It can be done anytime of the day, lying down or seated with props of pillows and cushions to make your body comfortable. Quieting the mind calms the nervous system and alleviates mental and bodily stress.
