In addition to having freshly ground flaxseed on hand, there are a few other ingredients that can be prepped and stored for quick and easy use throughout the day.
Nuts
Soak raw nuts and keep in a colander in the refrigerator for up to 14 days.
Dark nuts (8 to 12 hours)
Light nuts/Seeds (3 to 4 hours)
Ginger
Peel and cut ginger root and cover with water in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 30 days. Be sure the rinse/change the water every few days to ensure freshness.
Garlic
Fresh – peel and cover with water in airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 30 days. Be sure to rinse/change the water every few days to ensure freshness.
Mushrooms
Fresh - wash, slice and cover with water in an open container in the refrigerator for up to 10 days. Be sure to rinse/change the water every couple of days to ensure freshness.
Dates
Fresh - wash, rinse and dry and store in a colander (with a small plate covering the top of the dates) in the refrigerator for up to 15 days.
