Whether you choose to warm up on a mat or on a chair, Andrea has created two wonderful videos you can follow anytime your body needs some gentle movement. These types of movements and breathing are a wonderful activity for anyone practicing fasting!
These poses allow us to move freely, build strength and improve balance. Focusing on movement and breath not only leads to relaxation but also helps improve mood and confidence.
This seated (mat) warmup can be practiced on its own or in preparation for a yoga practice. These poses help to awaken, activate and prepare our bodies for the wide range of movements we encounter in yoga practice. By gently introducing stretches and movement to the different areas it encourages circulation, loosens joints and relieves tightness in our muscles. It’s also a great way to prepare the mind reconnecting your breath with your body. It helps to promote relaxation, reduces stress ,improves mood and mental clarity.
This seated (chair) warmup is ideal for those who may have limited movement. If due to age, illness or injury exercise is challenging then chair yoga is an excellent alternative. This warmup is suitable for all abilities and lets you take advantage of the many benefits of yoga from the comfort of your seat. A gentle challenge for your body improving mobility and flexibility.
Yoga has been an important part of Andreas life for over 30 years. It’s been a constant force of freedom and release helping to make all life’s ups and downs more comfortable. Yoga has helped her feel stronger more flexible and confident both on and off the mat. She completed her training in Vinyasa Yoga over 4 years ago and has opened her own studio. She loves creating imaginative and playful sequences, guiding her students to find space in their bodies , mind and soul.
Her classes are a mix of gentle asanas to a more dynamic style that synchronizes movement and breath to find stillness and focus. It is style that is beneficial for all levels of practice. Novice to Master - all are welcome.
